ARCHER GARFIELD COLE, was born June 11th, 1945 to the late Henry Lewis Cole and Lucy Mae [Hinton] Cole in Kenbridge, Virginia. He departed this life on Sunday, March 27th, 2022.
A long time resident of Orange, New Jersey, recently relocated to Plainfield, New Jersey, Archer worked as a Fleet Mechanic for Beacon Oil Company in Bayonne, New Jersey for over 30 years.
Archer could be found enjoying his collection of cars, motorcycles and guns. He also was known as an expert mechanic, craftsman and handyman, he turned a closet into a bathroom and he could fix anything.
He was a man of a few words who never wanted anyone to worry about him. Throughout his sickness he remained strong-willed.
Archer was preceded in death by his eldest daughter Bridget Ann Cole, leaves to mourn his childhood sweetheart and wife of 57 years Francine Cole; youngest daughter Tina Cole Walker and son-in-law William E. Walker III. Archer was blessed with three Granddaughters Breonna Cole-Clanton, Athena Leigh Walker and Adreonna Cole-Clanton. In most recent years Archer was filled with joy with the birth of his great-grandson Azuan Cole Pridgen born a day before his own birthday.
Archer, you no longer have to suffer in silence, you no longer have to be strong for us. You have taught your girls and great grandson how to be strong and stand on our own. You may now rest easy, may your soul and weary heart be at peace as you join your daughter Bridget,
your brothers Horace, Carl, Spencer and Stewart; your sisters Thelma, Sarah and your parents Henry and Lucy Cole.
You will be cherished by your two sisters Barbara Ann Hopson and Doris Espy along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives
