Charles Michaels

Charles Michaels, son of the late Malcolm and Alberta Michaels, was
born on July 1, 1934, in Elizabeth, NJ. He departed this life
peacefully in the early morning of April 17, 2021.

Charles Michaels attended the Elizabeth School System and graduated
from Thomas Jefferson High School in Elizabeth, NJ. He was an Athlete
and played in sports throughout High School, including football and
track.

He earned a degree from the Newark College of Engineering in
Mechanical Design. He served in the Army from 1955, and was honorably
discharged in 1957.

Charles was employed at Western Electric for 27 years. After his
retirement, he worked at the United States Postal Office for several
years.

Charles met the love of his life,Shirley Chavis, and joined her in
Holy Matrimony on June 24, 1061.
They settled in Plainfield, NJ, where they lovingly raised four
children, Brian, Jeffrey, Christopher, and Jennifer, all of
Plainfield, NJ. Charles has five grandchildren, Jarrett, Jeffrey Jr.
Micah, Jaden, and Lance.

Charles was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, uncle, and
grandfather. He adored his grandchildren and was lovingly referred to
as “Pop”. He was a very kind and friendly man, who loved to make you
laugh. Charles enjoyed lo spending time with family. He enjoyed
playing Tennis and he also taught tennis lessons. Charles also
Enjoyed bowling and roller skating.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Alberta and Malcom
Michaels, devoted wife, Shirley Michaels, siblings, Alfred Michaels,
Harold Michaels, Malcolm Michaels, and Norma Michaels.

Charles Michaels leaves to celebrate his life: his children, Brian
Michael’s, Jeffrey Michaels, Christopher Michaels, and Jennifer
Michaels; his siblings, Jean Michaels and Bobby Michael’s; five
grandchildren: Jarrett Michaels, Jeffrey Michaels Jr, Micah Michaels,
Jaden Thomas, and Lance Michaels. He will
also be celebrated by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
