Collette Parrott Mathis

Collette Parrott Mathis 62, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10:00am at The Revival Center. 45 Edwin Street, Carteret, NJ. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until time of service.Collette Mathis (Parrott), 62, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2022.

Collette was born on October 20, 1959 to Gerta and Walter Parrott, III. She was raised in Elizabeth, NJ and worked hard at the Veteran’s Home. Collette raised her 3 sons, Haneef, Mahdi and Dhkir. As a devoted grandmother she helped raise her grandchildren.  Collette enjoyed watching her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  Collette loved unconditionally and left a lasting impact on all who knew her.  Collette is predeceased by her parents Gerta and Walter Parrott, III, her husband, Derrick Pettus, and her sister Evette Allen.  Collette leaves to cherish her memories, her sons Haneef Parrott, Mahdi (Gerilyn) Pettus, and Dhkir Robinson. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren Tazia Pettus, Wanya Parrott, Spiritual Parrott, Derrick Pettus, and Dream Parrott. She is survived by her siblings, Shawn (James) Seymore, Robin (Fred) Johnson, Zane Parrott, Walter Parrott, IV, Darryl Barnes, sisters-in-law Stacy Pettus and Chantrell Pettus, and a host of nieces and nephews.
