Darryl Harris was born on April 18, 1961 to Louise Taylor Harris and to the late William B. Harris in Newark, New Jersey. He went to eternal rest on July 11, 2021.
Darryl received his primary and secondary education in the Newark Public School system. In addition, he received an Associate’s Degree in Social Services from Essex County College, as well as a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Rutgers University.
Darryl spent many years working in the mortgage industry as well as at Verizon until such time as he was unable to do so.
Darryl was always a very curious person and enjoyed going to the library and reading all kinds of books, journals, and magazines.
Darryl wrote poetry, he enjoyed cooking, modeling, old movies, all types of music (Gospel, R&B, Jazz & Hip Hop) and studying African American History. He was an Organ Donor
Darryl Loved the Lord, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Lord and Savior at an early age and his spirit has now gone home to be with the Lord. He will always remain in our hearts.
Darryl married Theresa-Sheree Jelks, August 23, 1998. They shared 15 years together in that union. They amicably decided to move in different directions but remained dear friends and always supported each other until his passing.
Darryl leaves to cherish his memory: beloved mother, Louise Harris; three brothers, Vincent, Tyrone (deceased) and Jeffrey (Bilal); one sister, Theresa Harris-Norfleet; brother-in-law, Daniel Norfleet; aunt Rebecca Powe; uncle, William Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
