In Loving Memory of Estelle Foust
Estelle Foust daughter of the late Reverend John C. Martin and late Amy Tompkins Martin was born May 4, 1930 in McCormick, South Carolina. She was called to the open arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 12, 2021.
Estelle grew up in McCormick, S.C. where she attended and graduated from Mims high School.
In search of better opportunities Estelle relocated to Newark, NJ in 1952. It was here where she met and was united holy matrimony to the late Earnest Lee Foust on January 24, 1955. To that union a daughter was born, Beverly Camille Foust.
Estelle was employed at Western Electric where she retied after 33 years of service. Estelle had a kind and beautiful spirit, she loved the Lord and her family. She liked to cook, shop, and was an avid collector of art, African American memorabilia, and antiques. She was well known for her sweet potato pies and being very opinionated.
Estelle was a lifelong member of Bethany Baptist Church in Newark, N.J. where she wad a member of the Usher Board and the Women’s League.
She leaves to mourn in her passing her daughter Beverly, two sisters Ethel Hunter (Thomas) of Hillside, NJ, Louise Talbert (Charlie) of Ashburn, VA, a brother Richard Martin (Elsie) of East Orange, NJ, one stepsister Melrose Gardner of Hyattsville, MD, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Estelle was preceded in death by ten siblings: Laura, Alpha, Walker, Lillian, Mabel, Veola, Robert, Clarence, John, and Mary Ruth.
