In Loving Memory

 

Eva Mae Jordan, daughter of the late Achell Warren Sr. and the late Victoria Warren Robinson, was born October 16, 1940 in Halifax County, North Carolina. She was called to the open arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 3, 2021.

 

Eva Mae grew up in Enfield, North Carolina, where she received her education in Halifax County. It is here where she met the love of her life, Thomas Jordan Jr. They were united in marriage in 1959 in Emporia, Virginia. In 1961, they relocated to Newark, New Jersey with three children to seek better opportunities for their family. To this union, a total of six children were born.

 

Eva Mae was very kind, thoughtful, and had a beautiful spirit. She loved the Lord and was known to celebrate Him in song and dance. She loved her family and cherished every moment with them. She also enjoyed cooking and was well known for her collard greens, cornbread, fried chicken, and sweet potato pies.

 

In New Jersey, Eva Mae worked multiple jobs to help support her family including Mattel, Charms, and Eagle Affiliates, where she was a supervisor and was employed for over 20 years until her retirement. She was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church in Springfield, New Jersey.

 

Those left to cherish the memory of her love is her devoted husband of 62 years, Thomas Jordan Jr; six children: Carolyn Ann Jordan, Elbert Jordan, Vernell Marie Jordan Janice Jordan, Michael Jordan , and Terence Keith Jordan; seven grandchildren: Roddy, Staff (deceased), Temple, Nate, Jeremy, Jayla, and Sean; four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Savannah Vinson (Mack Vinson), Shirley Robinson (David Taylor), and Minnie Robinson; one brother, Charlie Warren Sr; one daughter-in-law, Susan Jordan; two sisters-in-law who were like sisters: Helene Bell and Bernice Jordan; four additional sisters-in-law: Katie Warren, Floring Warren, Susie Warren, and Linda Warren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim Henry Warren, James Lee Warren, and Achell Warren Jr.

 

 

I HAVE A PLACE IN HEAVEN
