Gloria Jean Sanders

Gloria Jean Sanders (Harrell), 75, of Freemansburg, PA, peacefully passed away at home on August 22, 2021 after a long battle with lewy-body dementia.
Gloria was born on April 18, 1946 to Dorothy Loring (Baker) and George Harrell in Elizabeth, NJ. She attended Roosevelt Elementary School where she would meet the love of her life and future husband, Ransome Haywood Sanders. She went on to graduate from Battin High School.
After graduation, Gloria worked in the private sector and held various jobs from working at Quaker Oats, to working at her children’s school, Immaculate Conception and later on, Wells Fargo where she would eventually retire from.

Gloria and Ransome were married on June 22, 1968 and went on to have one child, Raeanne H. Sanders, and adopt one child, Randy L. Henderson. They lived for many years in Newark, NJ but would move on to Freemansburg, PA in July of 2002.

Gloria was passionate about singing. She was a talented singer with a voice that would touch your soul. She sang as a soprano in the choir at New Zion Baptist church in Elizabeth, NJ for many years. Gloria was a proud loving mother and a dedicated wife and will be greatly missed and remembered by many.
Gloria was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Loring (Baker), father, George Harrell, brother, George Harrell II and adopted son, Randy Henderson. Gloria is survived by her husband, Ransome Sanders, daughter, Raeanne Sanders, and her grandchildren, Michael R. Parris, Jr, Elijah W. Davis and Ariel Y. Davis, brothers, Paul Loring (Trina) and Richard Loring (Ambi), sister, Cheryl Henderson, and a host of family members that will miss her dearly
