Ida McDougald Obituary

Ida M. McDougald 81 of Elizabeth, NJ departed this life on July 18, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 10:00am at the Nesbitt Funeral Home 165 Madison Avenue Elizabeth, NJ. Visitation 9:00am until time of service. 

Ida M. McDougald was born on November 30, 1940 in Newberry, SC to the late Elisha and Irene Singley. The family moved to Elizabeth, NJ in February 1941. Ida attended the Elizabeth Public Schools.

 Ida retired from Fridaire after 25 years of service. 

She was a faithful member of the St. Paul's Calvary UCOG in Union, NJ under the leadership of Bishop Claude L. Campbell until her health prevented her from attending. She served on the Nurse's Unit, Missionary Board, Kitchen Committee and Choir. 

Ida was a resident at Elmora Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for three years. Ida will be missed for her straight talk and never changing attitude with love. 

Ida was predeceased by her parents Elisha and Irene Singley, her son Allen McDougald Jr., her son in law Carlton Solomon, Three brothers John, Ernest, and Eugene Singley and a sister Joyce Geter.

She leaves to cherish fond memories her son Edward McDougald Texarkana, TX, daughter Sharon McDougald Solomon Elizabeth NJ, granddaughter, India McDougald Baton Rouge, LA, brother in law John Geter Elizabeth, NJ, sister in law Alice Singley Raleigh, NC, an uncle JC Vaughn Elizabeth, NJ, godson Gregory Geter Elizabeth, NJ, goddaughter Matha Dale along with a host of other loving relatives and caring friends all of whom will miss her dearly.
