Margaret Tina Franklin

Margaret Tina Franklin, born July 4, 1956 to her late, father, Junior Cost Smith and late, mother, Ernestine Robinson Smith in the city of Newark, New Jersey; where she was lovingly called Tina by her family & friends. 

During Tina’s journey, she met the love of her life, Prather Franklin III & got married on June 21, 1986 at St. James AME Church in Newark, 

New Jersey. 

Tina was educated at East Side High School. Thereafter, Tina furthered her education in the nursing field, with 20 years of experience as a Nursing assistant; which she took pleasure in. 

Tina continued helping others and bridged a 10 year career, at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center ICU Department Newark, New Jersey. 

Tina’s interaction in the hospital with patients, families, physicians & staff left such a great impact of love, joy, peace, compassion & kindness towards all! Tina was also a giver. She loved to see others happy & prosper! When Tina stepped into an environment, you felt her positive energy, her contagious smile & laughter that lit up any room. Tina left a magnetic reflection of God’s light on others that will never be forgotten. 

Tina loved The Lord and throughout her years, Tina spent time teaching her six children, from youth, the word of God. Tina also took pleasure in sharing encouraging words, biblical scriptures & music to uplift family, friends & all whom she came in contact with. 

Tina showed great loyalty, love, and was caring towards others; especially for her husband & six children. 

Tina wore many hats, a woman of many talents, such as; a hair stylist, a make-up artist, a great cook, seamstress, a gardener, a handy woman & she loved to dance, just to name a few...Tina did not bury her talents in the earth but shared them with others in this life & God honors that! 

Margaret Tina Franklin leaves to cherish her fond memories, 

her husband, Prather Franklin III; 

her six children: 

Maurice Robinson, Terrance Robinson, Porcha Robinson, Jerome Robinson, Tina Johnson, 

son-in-law Tyreece Johnson; Prather Franklin IV; sixteen grandchildren, her mother’s Sister, Aunt Vivian Simmons; 

two sisters; Venus Burney & Joanne Terrell; & late siblings of twelve.

 A host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, great grandchildren, other relatives & friends.
