We celebrate the life and Homegoing Service of Marilyn Charlotte Fitzgerald of Elizbeth, New Jersey, who was born on 11 August 1936 and remained a New Jersey resident until she relocated to her Heavenly home on 31 May 2021.
She accepted Christ as her Saviour at an early age and re-dedicated her life and an active member of New Zion Baptist Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
After high school, Marilyn worked for the federal government for a few years while attending the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. Having and interest in fashion led her to become a model with “The Emily Miles Belle Meade Models.”
After many years as a buyer for Sears in NYC, Marilyn opened her own lingerie store “Beneath It All” in Secaucus, New Jersey. She remained in the industry until her retirement. She then became more active in here church and community.
Marilyn was the youngest of three children of Edna Fitzgerald James and Clarence Fitzgerald, Sr. Both preceded her in death, along with her brother, Clarence Jr.
She is survived by her sister Constance Clark, of Jonesboro, Georgia, her sister in-law, Barbara Fitzgerald of Laurel Maryland. Also remaining to grieve her passing are two nieces, Rhonda Wilson of McDonough, Georgia, Tamara Brooks of Laurel, Maryland. Two nephews, Darryl Wilson of Claremont, Florida, Clarence Fitzgerald III of Laurel, Maryland. She leaves behind great nieces and nephews, cousins and loving friends.
