Shaniequa Jamrube Wright-Davis was born on May 8, 1990 in New York, NY, to parents DoraMae Bradley and Anthony Issac Wright. She was raised by her beloved grandparents, Issac and Maxine Wright, and worked as a federal employee of the United Postal Service for eight years.
Shaniequa found love with her wife, Jessica Leslee Wright-Davis, whom she wed in East Hanover, NJ on February 29, 2020. Known for her giving heart, infectious smile, strong pride, and boundless dedication, Shaniequa sacrificed many holidays and time away from family to ensure she provided for those she loved. Prior to her work at the Postal Service, Shaniequa gained experience as a home health aide, delivering in-home-care, companionship, and comfort to each of her clients.
While she ultimately received a rare, stage four diagnosis, in true warrior fashion, Shaniequa gave her all in the trying battle against cancer. She later passed away on June 5, 2022, at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ.
Shaniequa is preceded in death by her brother, Edmond Anthony Wright, and leaves cherished memories with: her wife, Jessica Leslee Wright-Davis, her sister wife Jerlyne Calixte, her grandparents Issac and Maxine Wright, her parents DoraMae and Issac Wright Jr. Additionally, her siblings, Toniesha Wright (brother-in-law Robbie Parsons), Anthony Wright (sister-in-law Michelle Wright), and Toniequa Wright. Furthermore, a host of nieces and nephews she would do anything for: Tanira, Breanna, Lyric, Elijah, Connor (Noah), Legend, and EJ. Her favorite cousin Iva, and best friend, Yvette King. Her mother-in-law Pamela Desmond, and brother-in-law’s, Adam Davis (Tiffany Davis), Andre Torres, and Aaron Davis.
Shaniequa also shared loving memories with her loyal support animals that incessantly provided her comfort: her dogs, London and Maxyne, and cats, Trebek and Carmelo.
The family of Shaniequa Wright-Davis wishes to extend sincerest thanks to Morristown, NJ, Mayor Timothy Dougherty, Morristown Medical Center President Trish O’Keefe, Donna, The Simon 5 Oncology Team, Hospice and in-home hospice, Marie Gengo, Patricia Schoeler, Reverend Gregory Davis, Daryl Stewart, The Basu-Kayal Family, The Calixte Family, each integrated care volunteer, and the Nesbit Funeral Home for their support during this difficult time.
