Sister Pearlie Mae Manning Obituary

Pearlie Mae Manning, the daughter of the late Ed Manning and Lou Pearl McNeil
Manning, was born May 15, 1931, in Dillon, South Carolina. Sister Manning departed this life on
Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the Adroit Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Rahway,
New Jersey.

After graduating from Gordon High School in Dillon, Sister Manning moved to New
Jersey, where she became a member of Shelter Temple Apostolic Church in Elizabeth. As a
member of Shelter Temple, Sister Manning served as Trustee Board Member, decorated Sunday
School Superintendent and as an ever-ready Usher. Sister Manning worshiped at Shelter
Temple faithfully until in-person services were halted because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Then
she participated by phone.

Sister Manning was an employee of the MGM record manufacturing plant in Bloomfield,
NJ, where she worked as a record presser. Later she was employed by Woodbridge
Developmental Center where she supervised residents with developmental disabilities until she
retired in 1996. After retiring, Sister Manning took on the challenging responsibility of rearing
her three great grands, Maurice, Jaquan (Jack) and Iniyah (Nia), who flourish today as a
testament to her love and care.

In addition to her parents, Sister Manning was preceded in death by her daughter Marcia
Manning-Muse; her granddaughter Linnette Manning; five sisters, Marie Manning, Roxie
Bethea, Arneatha Watson, Ida Crawford, and Cora Bethea; three brothers, Evangelist Levi
Manning, Deacon Cadriet Manning, and Deacon Joe Louis Manning, as well as another brother
Albert who died as an infant.

Sister Manning leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Jeanne Yvette Manning-
Booker; her sister Arlene Manning Carmichael Joyner, her son-in-law Keith Muse, her
grandsons, Darnell Wise-Manning (Nicole) and Mark Wise-Manning (Sara); four great grands,
Maurice Manning (Vicky), Jaquan Manning (Tatiana), Iniyah Cassett (Travis), and Angela
Manning; four great-great grands, Milon Manning, Jasir Manning, Kasir Manning and Melanie
Manning; six step great-great grands, Maya Eutsey, Yasin Eutsey , Nylah Eutsey; along with
Josiah, Jaelyn, and Kenneth. She also leaves a host of loving nieces and nephews as well as other
dear relatives and friends.

Services will be held on 12/15/2022 at the Shelter Temple Apostolic Church. Viewing from 9:00 am and the Funeral at 10:00 am.
