Victoria McLean Obituary

Loving mother, cherished grandmother, and great-grandmother Victoria McLean (“Little Grandma”) of Elizabeth, NJ passed away after a long health battle on August 29, 2022.  A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the New Zion Baptist Church, 800-822 Flora Street, Elizabeth, NJ.  A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service. Arrangements are in the loving care of the Nesbitt Funeral Home 165 Madison Avenue Elizabeth, NJ.

 

Victoria was born in Beaufort, SC to the late Victoria and Simon Grant, Sr.  She met C.B. McLean in 1946 and married in May 1948.   She is a product of the Elizabeth School System and professionally, she worked as an Oven Supervisor for the former Burry Biscuits Corporation – a division of the Quaker Oats Company.  There for over 40 years until her retirement, she later returned to the Elizabeth School System to work part-time in the Lafayette school cafeteria.  Always committed to whatever she put her hands to, she was bestowed the honor of being name a lifetime member of the Women’s Scholarship Club, Inc. of Elizabeth, NJ and an Emeritus member of the Arnetha Blowe Scholarship Guild of the New Zion Baptist Church, Elizabeth, NJ.

 

Victoria is survived by her loving daughter – Lisa Dillard and her husband Michael; daughter-in-law Kathleen McLean (Ronald); her 2 cherished grandchildren – Christopher McLean (Chimere) and Latrice Dillard; and great-grandchild Cameron McLean.  3 siblings – Gilbert Grant (Christine), Robert Grant (Sandy), and Geraldine Clyburn.  She was predeceased by her husband – C.B. McLean and son – Ronald McLean.
