Wilbur R Taylor 101 of Linden New Jersey, departed from this life Wednesday, December 8, 2021. A private celebration of his wonderful life will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church 24 E 14th St, Linden, NJ. A walk thru visitation will be held from 9:00am until time of service. Arrangements are in the loving care of the Nesbitt Funeral Home 165 Madison Avenue Elizabeth, NJ.
Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on October 10, 1920, to the late Chauncey and Florence Taylor. Wilbur was educated in the Elizabeth Public School System and graduated from Battin High School which was Co-Ed at the time. After High School he enlisted in the Army at the age of 21 and served in WWII.
Wilbur “Will” was married to the late Elizabeth (Betty) Taylor, and from their union, eight children were born: 4 sons and 4 daughters.
Will was employed at General Motors in Linden, NJ for 40.7 years. He retired from General Motors on 1/1/1993.
Will was preceded in death by his children Mahmoud Saladeen (Sakina), Paulette Caldwell, Denise Taylor, Bruce Taylor, Robert Taylor and brothers Livingston, Burnet, Eugene, sisters Evelyn, Dorothy, Gertrude, Vivian, Mae and grandchildren Tina Royster and Rhonda Caldwell.
Will leaves to cherish loving and lasting memories with his children Janet Goins (Phillip), Kent Taylor, Kim Jameison (Ardath) and sister Velma Branch. Also, his grandchildren Lisa Taylor, Phillip Goins Jr (Butchie), Imani Saladeen, Christopher Taylor, Robin Caldwell, Roslyn Caldwell, Rokisha Caldwell-Archie, Candace (Candy) Burns, Bruce Burns, Nicky Burns, Jerrell Smart, Robert Taylor Jr., Htadra Jameison and Taylor (TJ) Jameison. Great grandchildren Stephanie Royster, Anthony Coverdale, Aleesha Coverdale, Jaleesa Coverdale, Phillip Jae Goins-Swindell, Diamond Goins-Cook, Britney Goins, Tyrone Caldwell, Albert Dial-Caldwell, Jordan Caldwell, Altaron Brown, Ayana Archie, Jahlil Archie, Tyler Burns, Khayyam Shaw, Sheldon Fish, Jihaad Shaw, Tajonae Shaw, Jasmine Johnson, Antoine Morgan, Kaiden Taylor, Alivia Scott and Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
